For fabrics whose weight is at least 6.0 oz./sq.yd., but does not exceed 10.0 oz./sq.yd., the average char length may not exceed 4.5 inches with no individual value exceeding 5.5 inches. Additionally, there may be no afterflame which exceeds 2.0 seconds and no residual flame.

British Standards Institution Fire Test for Furniture

One (1) upholstery fabric sample, identified as Flame-No-More, 58% Rayon/20% Cotton/22% Polyester (9.8 oz./sq. yd.), was received and tested in accordance with BRITISH STANDARDS INSTITUTION "Fire Test for Furniture, 5852. Part 1. Methods of Test for the Ignitability by Smokers' Materials of Upholstered Composites for Seating." Per Section 10. (a), "The following test results relate only to the ignitability of the combination of materials under the particular conditions of test; they are not intended as a means of assessing the full potential fire hazard of the materials in use."

The sample submitted was tested to Section 9.3 Butane Flame Test. The results are as follows:

The sample submitted therefore meets minimum requirements of the above standard when tested to butane flame ignition source 1.
